Susan Dix Lyons
Susan Dix Lyons (Chairperson) is a former journalist and founder of Clínica Verde. She began her career in journalism as a reporter for the Tico Times in San Jose, Costa Rica, and later moved to Tampa, where she worked for 9 years at an urban newsweekly, starting as an editorial assistant, then working as a writer, editorial manager, Managing Editor, Editor, and Publisher. She's done public relations writing for various businesses including Biziteks, Inc. and California Pacific Cardiovascular Medical Group and is a contributor to the perspective series on the San Francisco affiliate of NPR. Susan has been awarded the Level Playing Field Award by the Athena Society in Tampa and an Outstanding Achievement Award from the Society of Professional Journalists. She has served on the board of Tampa Bay Business Community for the Arts and was accepted for membership into the Athena Society of women leaders in business. She holds a B.A. from American University in Washington, D.C., and an M.A. in Art History from the University of California, Davis, with a focus on contemporary public architecture and the U.S. government's Design Excellence program.
